So my wife works in a hospital.
5 days ago she came in contact with someone with swine flu (H1N1)
This morning she is home sick in bed.

I work in a large company with lots of people.
So the reasonable thing is to stay at home and quarantine myself.
I also work as a contractor, so no sick days for me. I don't come into work, I don't get paid. Right now, I can't afford not to get paid.

So I'm at work.
Could I get in trouble for this?

You feel fine? Then go to work and stop worrying, if you start to feel a fever or something go home. To stay home for 5 days just in case you get the flu is absurd.

Wear one of those masks as a precaution if you're concerned. People at work may question if that's a wise move, but if you got to get paid, you got to get paid.

Influenza(s) come on QUICKLY ... If you're asking a lingering question to yourself whether you 'have it' or 'might be getting it' for more than, say 8-12 hours..probably not .. It's like getting hit by a truck ... If you're feeling that 'rapid decline' and can get to your doctors, let them know .. Tamiflu does help, but it needs to be adminstered early in the process to provide some relief .
