Hi - I'd like to come to Chicago for a weekend and wanted to know the best time of year to do so. Ideally, I would like the weather to be in the mid 60's to mid 70's. Thanks.

If you want mid-60s to mid 70s, pretty much right now is the best time to visit; between now and the end of May. After that it starts heading up to the 80s.

I'd say that September is the best month of the year weather-wise in Chicago. It's consistently in the high-60s/low-70s during that time and usually through the first week or two of October. After that, it's a bit more of crapshoot - it could continue to be gorgeous through Halloween or there could suddenly be frost everywhere.

Last year's October featured both upper 70s and accumulated snow. It's a crapshoot all right.
