Oh man, was that same place as One Point East in Lynwood? I remember that place from the mid 70s. Big club. I can still hear Gary's Gang singing "Keep On Dancin'" while we danced under those giant neon hoops hanging overhead.

I saw a cool little article with pics of the late 70's scene on the southside in the Chicago Reader and Sun-Times. The articles are not Disco specific, but may still be of use to someone...

City Life located in Dixie Square Mall in Harvey. City Life was known to be a disco lounge. This is all that is left of it today. http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1173/...b548f2.jpg?v=0

SASAFRAS - It was located ate harlem and Irving - - across the stree from a records store.

The Giraffe - on Mannheim Rd in Schiller Park in the holiday Inn

SOPs on River Rd and in Arlington Heights

The Nickel Bag - Schiller Park

1)Across from Rolling Stones? Was this place located where that mini-mall is now on Irving Park and Forest Preserve?

2)Wow, I only knew the Thirsty Whale as a rock bar. I never knew it once had disco.
