Thank you all!
One more question: what's the difference between Loyola and DePaul? I have checked them on Wikipedia and they are so similar!!

The various specializations between DePaul & Loyola shape the schools. Loyola has a huge investment in its Medical Center, that drives a great deal of its fund raising and even the ability to improve lab sciences. This extends to its offerings in MIS for Healthcare, where a large percentage of grads will move to other hospitals.

DePaul has much more of a focus on "white collar Chicago" in its IT, MBA, and Law School offerings. If you already work for a Chicago based firm that has a lot of DePaul grads in those areas it may be wise to "join the club" in that regard.

If the OP's post Master's degree asperations are more theoretical and/or strictly technical UIC and other schools probably are better in that regard.

It's CRAZY how true this is! The DePaul network is really strong among professionals in Chicago, which is very helpful if you plan on staying in Chicago like 80% of DePaul graduates who also tend to be from the Chicago suburbs/Michigan/Ohio.

For grad programs, DePaul has a great MIS program tied to the business school so you could potentially get an MBA/IT degree combo. Plus you can work full time at a great company downtown while going to school at night.

It's very hard to find DePaul grads outside of Chicago, but you'll generally get "oh I know DePaul" treatment from people who went to school w/in 200mi of Chicago and partied at the bars in Lincoln Park when they were home during summer breaks. If you're looking for a more portable degree and can afford not to work doing school, UIUC is a better option.
