Many colleges are well respresented in Chicagoland because people move here from many areas of the country. The nearest colleges have the biggest following, but some other than others. Through your experience, which college has the biggest following?

None of the above. Chicago is a pro town and most sports fans around here do not have much interest in college sports (other than their alma maters).

So your saying none of the above colleges have a large chicago following? That was the question.

If that is your answer, you are very, very wrong.

I still think most people in Chicagoland favor U of I.

WHOA!?!?!?!? Have you every walked outside on a Saturday afternoon during late August through November???

Chicago has an INSANE amount of college sports crazies. I've noticed it expanding at an exponential rate the past few years.

True - but they aren't U of I, DePaul, UIC, Loyola, or NU fans. They're Indiana, Michigan, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, etc. fans.

As was said before, Chicago is primarily a pro sports town, it also happens to have a lot of transplants who come from regions/colleges where NCAA sports dominate. Outside of Lincoln Park you don't see a huge number of "college sports crazies".

The local press spends infinitely more time discussing the Bears and the other pro teams than college games, Even after NIU football defeated Alabama three of four years ago, you get three column inches in the Tribune. You **might** even get the basketball scores for the local teams on local sports radio.

Sure, when you get around the tournament and bowl seasons, there is a little but not much more. And it does not compare with real college sports towns like Raleigh-Durham, Cincinnati, Columbus, etc.
