Not that I have any kids, but my husband and I plan on heading up to Mount Trashmore in Evanston this weekend. It's closer to us/easier to get to than the ones closer to downtown. I haven't been sledding for a good 13 years or so. I'm quite excited.

It has been years since I heard that name! So long that I almost forgot about it!

Taylor Park in Oak Park at Division and Ridgeland is on a moraine and has a nice slope for kid's sledding. At least it did 50 years ago when we used to visit my cousins over there and go sledding.

I was driving on Halsted at 29th today in Bridgeport and saw a mess of kids having a blast sledding the hill on the west side of the road there. It was a larger hill than at the other two parks I mentioned too.

If youre out in the area, hit up Blackwell Forest Preserve in Winfield/Warrenvill area. They have a large hill to sled down, but they require you rent their tubes to sled down it. Its a large hill, but you can get some incredible speed going down it. And if that hill is too large for you, there are many smaller ones in the park, too.

The best place near beverly is the (relatively) huge sledding hill in dan ryan preserve at 87th and western. I haven't yet found anything better within the city limits, go there all the time with the kids.
