Here we go again. Every 5 years or so, after stuffing headquarters with more middle managers and wasting money on frills, the CTA is ready to shut down for lack of funds. They ask the state for more money, the state says no. The CTA threatens massive service cuts and fare hikes. The state gives them money (this part hasn't happened yet). Things go back to normal.

Here's an idea. How about some fiscal responsibility and a balanced budget for the CTA? I almost hope the state doesn't bail them out. The gridlock that will result might finally pressure the CTA into making some real changes.

The gridlock that will result? We're already there.

Well, just as long as the red or brown line are running to Belmont next Friday, I'll be happy.

It will get you there...eventually. Hopefully. You. Won't. Mind. Stopping. Every. 5. Feet.

Yeah, if it's at one, I'd think about cabbing it on the way there. It's not as bad going back towards the loop since both tracks are still in use southbound.
