Yuppies could certainly play a factor near six corners and further north. However South of Irving seems like from Cicero all the way to Narragansett seems like it will be all Latino very soon. Portage Park could become like Logan Square and Avandale majority Latino overall with a strong Polish influence north of Irving and six corners and also a yuppie influence at the same time.

I love Galewood and EP having lived a block from Harlem and Diversey. South EP has great homes and so does Galewood. I do see the area becoming more Latino with them being priced out further East. It doesn't have to be the end of those areas. It depends on how badly the Italian American community wants to keep it's strong presence of Harlem. EP will be about a third Latino if they stay and north of Grand maybe even a majority it will become Majority if they leave from South EP. Galewood could also go either way. As goes one so will go the other.

EP is what people from Elmwood Park call their town, it is just west of the city it runs along Harlem from just north of Diversey south to North Avenue from East to West it goes from Harlem to 8000 W. Harlem is known as Chicago's Little Italy outside of Taylor street. EP has seen it's Latino population double from 12% to nearly 25% since 2000. It has large Italian American community plus a Polish community which is now nearly as large. A few people I know are very worried about the growing Latino population. I wonder about White Flight will they panic and move from EP?

I actually could see Dunning becoming Majority Latino south of Addison and East of Harlem with the area the West of Harlem and North of Addison remaining majority White. It depends on what happends further East with home prices.

This trend isn't new I just believe it will continue. My uncle is 75 and lives on Addison and Central this area has become heavily Latino and my cousin works at the hospital there and her patients are almost all Latino. I just don't see the Poles staying. What does everybody think?

It seems that you are saying that the western edge of the city and the inner rung suburbs are on their way to becoming majority Latino.

I think I may be majority Latino is five years. My English, German, Dutch, Danish, and Slovakian ancestry seems to be on the decline. Where's Henry Louis Gates Jr. when I need him?
