Hey Everyone,

I have recently moved to chicago and was looking at some apartments on the intersection of clark/fullerton. I have seen that most of the parking is Zoned 143. I was just wondering if anyone knew about the parking situation around here.

Thanks

Whenever an area is zoned for parking in Chicago it means that the people living in the area can not find a parking place. and are attempting to save parking for themselves by keeping others out A bad sign. The parking situation in Lincoln park is so bad there is a parody of it in a song called the Lincoln park pirates.

I would suggest moving or getting rid of the car.

I actually lived in Lincoln Park (Dayton/Wrightwood) for a few years, and owned a car (did pharmacutical sales, so needed a car), parking wasnt really an issue most nights...The key is to park before 7pm during the week, gets a bit trickey after that.

Parking is better further west in Lincoln Park. I once lived near the Armitage Brown Line stop, and it was zoned, and it was probably one of the better parking situations I've delt with--though still rough at times. I didn't drive that much, though.

Park on a block with a lot of single family homes, most will have garages, so the residents dont use street parking as frequently

Very true. My block in LP was probably 90% single-family homes, and that made parking easier. We were "The Renters".

Thanks for all your suggestions, Appreciate that. Doesn't seem like street parking around this area is going to work out. I will certainly keep my eye out for any single family homes nearby :0,

Most of them are converted two- and three-flats, so they look just like most of the apartments. Though there are also a lot of teardowns. It may not be immediately apparent to you where the single-family houses are at first, but you'll figure it out.
