It doesn't sound like you were going to do this but don't hold his check as colateral, I watch enough court tv to know thats not allowed...lol.

I would want to do the same thing and stick it to him with the check as far as return to sender but hurting his finances isn't going to help your cause of getttign money from him.

I would think you could press charges about the stove, that's theft. That may change his attitude about paying you.

Also, about the wall, I'm not a landlord so you know more than I do about being a landlord but if thats your business you should learn how to do drywall patching because what cost you $500 probably could have been done for less than $40 in supplies and a few hours work.

I was thinking about buying a rental property, after reading your and other stories on these boards I'm thinking twice though.

Whole wall, not just one piece. Sheet rock and dry wall material alone was 200.

I love it you guys have the best advice ima having problems with my tenants they havent payed me for 6 months and they still try tk intimidated me couse they have a bunch of garbage gangbanger friends.
