Actually the Metra stop was moved a few years ago to 57th st. Where will you be living. You may not have to take Metra.

It appears to me that there is a stop at 59th st and at 57th st.

Unless I'm losing my mind these are the same stops that have been around for the last 25 years. Only difference is that 55-56-57 was remodeled whereas 59th street looks almost as bad as the 103rd st/Roseland station (where I sometimes get on in the morning, can't recommend it). I still would avoid 59th very late at night, regardless of how many UC police call boxes there are. I've never noticed that the muggers paid much attention to them and the street is very isolated.

Honestly, I usually take the South Shore to visit friends in Hegewisch, and Hammond, and I know they used to stop at 59th, but moved it to 57th a few years ago. I thought Metra did the same. I was wrong, I see.
