So, my best friend is flying in to Midway in two weeks for my graduation.

Currently, I live a few hours south of Chicago. I have a gift card for a nice restaurant in Chicago, and the only time during his visit that is convenient for us to go is on his first night in town. I will not be driving to the airport to pick him up . . .don't have a reliable car and don't feel safe doing so.

So we're taking the L into the city to go to the restaurant. The issue is what to do with his luggage. I googled it and found that do to safety concerns, Midway doesn't have luggage storage areas. What else might we be able to do with his luggage for a few hours somewhat late in the evening, while we go to a nice restaurant?

How will you get to Midway to meet your friend and then to the Loop? How will you get home? home? Call the restaurant manager ONLT; exokaub your predicament. With any luck, you will be able to store it in the manager's office while you have a nice meal.

Congratulations!!!

There are still a handful of lockers at Union Station. I have also seen some folks ask the coat check people at nicer restaurants if they can stash a business sized bag. Call ahead to make sure the place you are going to has room...

Metra + CTA.

The restaurant is in a hotel, but I didn't know if they'd hold our luggage without being hotel guests. I'll call the restaurant and hotel and ask.

You would be surprised how many business travelers are in the same predicament as your friend. It's actually quite common in my company for us to visit restaurants in town where at least two or three of those attending are from out of town and have to store their roller bags in the coat-check while we have dinner. It's common...but as others recommend, call ahead first and explain.

Thanks! I guess I wasn't even thinking that they may be able to store it there.
