Hello, folks.

Wondering where free bike air pumps are around the city. Was very pleased to find one outdoors at Village Cyclery on Wells (2 blocks south of North Ave) last night!

Where are the rest of them?

I live in Logan Square.

Johnny Sprockets on Broadway.

Cycle Smithy on Halsted near Fullerton.

Kozy's on Halsted in Boystown.

It's better to have a bike pump in your backpack!

Red face Free bike pumps near Logan Square? And another pump Q...

Thanks for your suggestions!

Does anyone know of any free bike pump access closer to Logan Square?

I'm a new biker, so I'm trying to familiarize myself with biking in general.
Is it sufficient to have a bike pump to carry around, or is it a good idea to also have a larger one?

Not anymore. You must have not lived here for at least 10 years.

If they even have a pump for public use, most of the time you have to pay a quarter or two...

There's a bike shop near North Ave and Damen going towards Ashland. Forgot the name.

Buy a Topeak Morph Road pump at Performance Bike on Halsted and Diversey. Best portable pump to me, pumps like a floor pump and has a pressure gauge.

Jesse,
The place nearth North and Damen is called Rapid Transit Cycle Shop. Not certain if they have a free bike pump tho.

OP, that place would be quite near you.

Rapid Transit is good for getting a recumbent, their other bikes stink. Yeah, I'm certain they have an outdoor pump, but any true / heavy duty cyclist carries his own with him! Flats happen everywhere and you have to have a patch kit with you too.
