You can buy them frozen in many of their restaurants.

That's good news because we sure weren't impressed by Giordano's.

Just in case you are ever missing the other Chicago staples, other than pizza, there is a place in Leesburg, VA that you can get Italian Beefs and Chicago style dogs and such. The food isn't half bad either. They started out as just a little hot dog stand outside a nursery, but they are now opening up a nice little store in downtown Leesburg, too.

The place is Windy City Red Hots.

My wife and I enjoyed it quite a bit in our 6 year stint living in the DC area before moving back here to Chicago.

OP please do share how the pizza tastes when you get it. My hubby's fav is Lou Malnati's, and you have just given me an idea for his b-day present. We are missing Chicago food in Ga.

the location off of Damen near North and Milwaukee has them frozen. it's a tiny location (it's nearly impossible to find. it's in the same area where the 7-11 is) w/ no sit down services, but they deliver (fresh pizzas, not sure about frozen ones), which is awesome for me! a part of me was debating on shipping one to family in Boston, but a part of me (the very, very cheap part of me! ) was debating on just stuffing a pizza into a carry-on on the next flight. probably wouldn't work or be VERY messy...

I ship their pizza all the time to our Chicago family who's trapped in Georgia.

They love it.

Go ahead and order it ... they ship super quick too.

There is an Illiois law. They cannot sell uncooked dough. I tried to buy it locally to make my own sweet pizza. The extra money is probably to get it to you faster and therefore fresher and less chance of spoilage.

I wonder if they just can't sell the uncooked dough out of state or something. You can purchase frozed Lou's uncooked dough in Chicago from Peapod and have it delivered to you to make your own pizza. I've never done it because I like to make my own dough, but they definitely sell it on Peapod for the Chicago area.

"...trapped in Georgia." Too funny! I sometimes feel that way. Thanks. I am going to order next week.

Maybe the restaurants can't sell uncooked dough. We've ordered frozen Gino's East pizza online. It arrives frozen and uncooked. Not quite as good as what one get's in the actual restaurant, but when one lives in an area where pizza options aren't great, it's pretty darn good.
