Wouldn't 'sea of fire' be more effective in scaring non-Christians into the fold? Seeing as the 'lake' is obviously not scaring them effectively enough...
A semi-serious discussion on the way terminology illicits fear in people...

I'm sure the scariest phrase has got to be le lac de feu; French for "the lake of fire."
Oh, no! Not the le lac de feu!!

Hahahaha!!! You are too funny!
Personally, I don't think it much matters how it is worded. Since I don't believe in it - you can call it whatever you want and it still won't affect me at all. But le lac de feu does have a nice ring to it!!!

Seeing Lord Jesus for the first time and believing him true when It is to late to believe because this the great Judgement and you never believed when you had a chance to believe when you were alive on the earth and rejected the idea of believing because no church going to control me

Thanks, guys. I thought so, too.
You really can't fit much in a lake, especially not billions of people. A sea, maybe, but not a lake.

Lake of fire, sea of fire, pit of fire....Really, with all due respect, June just couldn't help but mention that she is typing this post from her family room, which has a lovely antique wood burning stove. The only "fire" that June is interested in at this moment is the lovely warmth that is gracing her home, and smell of wood smoke that fuels her soul.
Oh, but the sea can wait....
Take gentle care.
