That can be said of every hero generation going back 3 centuries. Those generations decline in religion and then two generations later we see an increase.
That could very well be that we are in this cycle. However it is a false hope to rely that God will continually allow to be reclaimable. Eventually God's patience will run out, which was the point of Jesus' message about his 2nd return.
There's no written "law" that says you have to attend a church "building" to be a Christian. I don't care how many scriptures you quote. If it works for you then that's fine, I get exactly what I need through scripture, other Christians and C-D.
I agree with you partially. I know a couple of people that actually believes that "not attending to 'church' means you're not a Christian". It is something that I strongly disagree with. How many people who are attending to church are Christians? Eh, sorry. I'm annoyed with these kind of beliefs. OTOH, I do understand that it's important to attend to church because fellowship is important. It's good to be in touch with your own fellow believers. Grow together.

That's what really gets in my craw is the belief that if you don't attend church you aren't a Christian. That's real prevalent in my neck of the woods, the south. But I'm here to tell you that I'm way more of a Christian than most of those people filling the pews on Sunday morning. It's show and tell, it's a fashion show and it's all phony bolognie. It makes me sick to my stomach. I don't want any part of this charade and God knows my heart and mind and if He wants me to attend a "church" then He will direct me to the right one. That hasn't happened so far.

I don't think they're leaving faith. They're leaving the religious system.

Until those fellow believers see your family's lives being turned upside-down by trial after trial...then they simply think you're making God mad. Funny how people you felt were closer than family avoid you after awhile.
That's why I quit going to a church building. Doesn't make me an atheist but it certainly has made me question so many of my fundamentalist beliefs.

Hi Snuffy!! I hear ya, i don't go to a "church building" any longer either but I'm not opposed to it if it fits what I'm looking for and that's impossible I think so.....no church for me. It's really sad when your supposed church "family" can't stick by you during life's trials and tribulations, really sad. What's up with that?
Sometimes religious fanaticism causes more people to avoid the buildings associated with that fanaticism.
