Well, I have read parts of the bible and I have seen several movies covering bibical events and I have watched "The Ten Commandments" quite a few times, so I know a fair amount about Christianity.

The OPs question was a no-brainer because it was covered in the Ten Commandments, so I thought I was qualified to answer.

Hi hiker 45: That was one of the questions and no the Ten Commandments say nothing about eternal torture. Does God show his wrath? Yes, by letting us reap what we sow. The Op was mostly to find out how anyone could believe in ET if they thought about it read the Bible and Prayed. Yes I know they do because that is part of God's plan at this time. It seems so clear to me but I understand that it is God who has opened my eyes to this. Does that mean he has opened my eyes to everything. Heavens no. There is a lot I don't understand. I keep reading and studing and praying and know God will show me the truth on his time table not mine.
