Once again - the Freakish Face of Christian Fundamentalism Prepares to Bite it's prey . . .

Westboro Baptist Church, the Topeka church known for its inflammatory anti-gay protests, plans to picket the funerals of the six people gunned down in Arizona on Saturday.
In a flier posted on its web site, the controversial church writes, "THANK GOD FOR THE SHOOTER -- 6 DEAD!

Validation that hatred is a christian value. Some just do better at suppressing it than others.

Their protest at Elizabeth Edwards funeral in Raleigh turned into a non-event as they were basically silenced by hundreds blocks away from funeral.

Is it Asheville Native? The westboro baptist church is not following Christ and to label them "Christian" is an abomination. By the way, the shooter that killed those people in AZ presents himself as an atheist.

I think that if this small family hate group were not given the spotlight they would quit pushing our buttons.
They seek the glory of 15 minutes of fame.
As we say so many times right "don't feed the trolls". I fear that one day a shooter will probably get them, because very often hate creates more hate.

Subjective, as many who profess to be Christian are not.

DING DING DING we have a winner.
I suspect they are also the clear majority. And since they represent themselves as christians, they do represent what christianity has become. They hide behind the bible, express their hatreds based on their bible, ergo these people are christianity today, and it is a threat to freedoms and the future of mankind.

To say this is not what christianity is, is just denial of what christianity has become. Muslims say the same thing about their religion, claiming it is peaceful, but the reality shows they are also in denial.

If we use your analysis and claim that because of Christianity has people that express hatred then we can make the same claim to those that title themselves atheists since they to express hatred.

There is no such thing as one that doesn't believe in a god for the absence of belief in other gods leaves the SELF as one's god. Thus all are at the very least monotheists and therefore the meaning behind the term "atheist" is as the spagetti monster - it is fictional.

Everyone should believe in one's own self, but not as a god, as that is silly in the utmost.
Spaghetti monster, just another mythical deity for the purpose of mocking the absurdity of any other deity.

To the contrary, it is what the individual has become following the majority who do not represent Christ.
This is not about a consensus based on those who gather once or twice a week in futility, not exercising their own mind?
