[10] And when he [Jesus] was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.
[11] And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
[12] That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
Stiff-necked and hard-hearted people will never have a place in God's kingdom, and that's why hell hath enlarged herself to accommodate them all.
You know as well as I do that God can soften the most hard-hearted stiff-necked people you can imagine.
Notice the mystery of all this was given to the apostles, but it was not given to the rest. Again, why? It seems God is withholding the mystery so that some should suffer eternally. Is God purposing some to suffer forever? (Assuming eternal torment is correct...)
At that same time Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit, and he said, "O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way. - Luke 10:21
You know as well as I do that God can soften the most hard-hearted stiff-necked people you can imagine.
Sure, there are some hard-hearted people who later are converted; and, with their new softened hearts, they can understand Jesus' parables. But that does not mean all will be converted; only those who humble themselves in this lifetime at the bidding of the Holy Spirit will enter the kingdom of Heaven.

Reread Mark Mark 4:10 again - And when he [Jesus] was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.
It wasn't just the 12 who received revelation of the parable. But for those who didn't fully accept Jesus, then they remained blind, lost and undone.

God does not purpose any to hell, as it's by their own choices and rebellion that send them to hell.

I tire of this lie of CHOICE . . . born of psychological ignorance and false "precepts and doctrines of men." There is no choice about what we do or do not actually believe . . . as opposed to what we intellectually express a preference for believing. If any of the promoters of this lie about choice can establish that they are capable of CHOOSING to believe something they do NOT actually believe . . . I would like them to step forward and announce this remarkable accomplishment. Jesus preached on Holy Spirit. for example : do not judge or condemn or you would be judged or condemned, because Holy Spirit does not condemn or judge ...... Jesus preached the ways and understanding into the heart of God through Holy Spirit, and said to the people if you don`t understand or accept me it is because you do not know the Father , for if you had the Father you would accept me and love me and my words would have meaning, See Jesus taugh very little maybe one ot two parable he explained and he taught on end times and that was it....... Holy Spirit came at Penticost and became the hand of the Lord and taught the believers the understanding into what the parables mean and the working into the gifts of the Holy Spirit , You just have to listen to the Holy Spirit, and need to discern the Lords Spirit by the Lord Spirit from demons who will lie and bring confusion

Anyway I understand that this was prophesied... but why? is the question.
The scripture says Jesus spoke in parables to fulfill the prophecy SO THEY WOULD NOT BE FORGIVEN.
Did Jesus not want them to be forgiven? Did Jesus want them to stumble into eternal hell? Seems like an odd thing for the savior of the world to do.
Or is this a matter of predestination? They were predestined to eternal hell? Therefore to fulfill the predestination, it must be that they would not understand and not be forgiven?
Because most often the answer to "why" is not for us to know.
We have God's word...not God's mind. But when we have verses that don't explain why..like:

For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness
One should not go to great lengths to pit other scriptures, expecting God should explain ..... "Why not"

Don't be suprised when you end up in the very place you have planted into the minds of the weak. You will find no escape from it, until you have payed the last farthng.

Actually, scripture does tell us why:
Rom 11:7 What then? What Israel doth seek after, this it did not obtain, and the chosen did obtain, and the rest were hardened,
Rom 11:8 according as it hath been written, `God gave to them a spirit of deep sleep, eyes not to see, and ears not to hear,' --unto this very day,
And why did God do this?
Rom 11:30 for as ye also once did not believe in God, and now did find kindness by the unbelief of these:
Rom 11:31 so also these now did not believe, that in your kindness they also may find kindness;
Rom 11:32 for God did shut up together the whole to unbelief, that to the whole He might do kindness.
The reason is right there. God is good to both Jews and Gentiles alike in their unbelief. He will be kind to the whole.
Many people simply don't want to see, nor understand -- and thus they remain blind; it's all because of their callous hearts.
Stephen said, being full of the Holy Ghost and power:
Acts 7
[51] Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.
[52] Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:
[53] Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it.
So your saying God didn't blind them, they were already blind, correct?
