I wasn't aware that the United States was ever mentioned in the Bible since it did not exist then. To what are you referring to?

Are destruction and corruption the only thing people think about?

Even more so, these stories (rather true or false) happened THOUSANDS of years ago in a time where man was far more primitive. Alot of these passages seem to not be embedded in reality at all, let alone the reality of the modern world.

And yet the Bible tells us that near the end of time the Jewish people would return to the land of Israel. And the focus of world attention would be on Israel and the Middle East. It also tells us that the return of the Jews would anger many nations around the world. It appears those primitive men, had a good source for their information. These same prophecies tell us that the United States would be destroyed in one hours time. And all her cities would burn. The prophecies of the Bible have been ignored for a long time. Yet their truth is there for all to see, for those who really seek the truth.

Where is the United States mentioned? I'm sorry for my ignorance but I've never heard of the United States being mentioned in the Bible.

The name of Jesus Christ will not be found in the Old Testament, yet we see that He fulfilled 300 prophecies found in the Old Testament. The United States is similiar. Yet the prophecy of America is found in both the Old and New Testaments. And in fact, unless you read both Books the prophecy is not understandable. In the Old Testament we see America in Jer. 50 and 51. In the New Testament we see America in Rev. 18. Yet to understand the prophecy, both texts need to be considered. For many years I did not know about the United States being mentioned in the Bible either. Then the God of the Bible showed me the texts understanding on my wifes uncles farm up in northern Minnesota. The Bible does not always give formal names. Yet we can see who the Bible is speaking about by description.

Sure, we still have a limping economy. a corrupt government and a Godless media ... but, openly accepted sin is clear evidence of inward destruction. Just a few examples include: breakdown of the family unit, abortion on demand, rampant immorality, godless liberalism, spiraling illegitimate birth rates, pornography, paganism; open, unbridled homosexuality, government corruption and "people unwilling to endure sound doctrine, but every man seeking to be his own god".

God will not need to destroy America for open homosexuality or any other outward sins (or the pretense that these things are not sin in God's eyes). We will inevitably do that on our own if we continue down this path ... and there is no evidence that our nation has the will to change paths.

In your opinion, how do we change paths?

2 Peter 2
[6] And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
[7] And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
[8] (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds; )

Lot was a righteous man in God's eyes. But, the new age teachers will try to paint him as the opposite.

Jude 1
[3] Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
[4] For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

[8] Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

Lot was a righteous man, but even he was not sin free. What did he do after he made it to safey? (Hint: The same thing Noah did after the waters receded.)

austiNati, Obviously they don't recognize it is just a collection of fables, and when one doesn't fit their view, they simply make stuff up.
