I think something that gets missed is that God warns us against some things more strongly for our own sake. I always think about earthly parents. If you have a rule against excess sweets and drugs and then you find a huge bag of candy hidden in your kids room what would you do ? How about a marijuana stash ? It isn't that they broke one rule more badly than another but you know that the violation of one will be harder on the child, hence the stronger admonition regarding one vs. another. I lived in Philadelphia for several years and the testimonies of people being delivered from a homosexual lifestyle are sobering. It latches onto every aspect of your life as opposed to say an addiction to alcohol or cigarettes. You are often talking about a person having to go to war in their physical, emotional, financial, familial, AND spiritual life to come back to Christ. Much different than not smoking ever again.
No, real Gods don't worry about trivial matters such as which microbe marries which. Men who wish to control others concern themselves with such things - men like those who authored the Bible and its god.
If God did have an issue with homosexuality, it would be a rather simple task for her to "turn it off".

These men wanted to engage in sex with the angels, who appeared to be men. Lot said it was wicked, and even offered his daughters instead, but they didn't want women. They were burned in their lusts toward other men.
Jude 1:7 - Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
So, I say again: Even though America appears to be a sheep nation because of its good treatment of Israel, it still needs to remember Sodom and Gomorrah.
Homosexuality is a worry for the other world (using Plato for that world of the existential true Being), the world of overcoming your senses. What they need to understand, the homosexuals is that they won't be destroyed about that other world, the american world is already destroyed about homosexuality. Everybody has his private life anyhow.
See God will NOT destroy American because this is a nation were there is more missionary and evangelism going on that Jesus needs to spread the Gospel for the purpose of the Lord ........ But that does not mean that sin can abound to the limits that would be judged as sin piles up to Heaven that would be Judged , so Christians need to pray to abase these corrupt spirit who deceive man and invite error in that can inhibit the spreading of

After reading this thread, I now have a much better understanding of why soooo many young, innocent gay people are committing suicide. Alot of you people on here simply don't understand homosexuality at all. Even more so, to say that an entire country will be destroyed because of gays is primitive, ignorant, and borderline pyscho.
These people already have it hard enough due to the fact that they are attracted to their own gender; but when you have these crazy religious philosophies saying that gays are the root of the worlds evil, it just goes to show that this brainwashing mentality is very culturally and socially destructive.
I understand that some of you actually agree that homosexuality isn't a choice and it's the way someone's born, but I still hear "it's a sin in God's eyes." To me, that translates to: God creates a person as gay/lesbian, and then tells them not to act upon it, leading that said person to live a life of loneliness because he/she can't fall in love with whom they are attracted to. If they do, they are somehow going against the will of God ( because God cares sooo much about our sex life, despite being preoccupied with other things such as expanding the universe etc..)
There are nearly 7 BILLION humans on this planet. It's only natural (and logical) for some of those people to be born with out the will to procreate, almost like a natural form of population control in a way. This can be found in many species, not just people.
A young person, who is confused about why they are attracted to their own gender, does not need to have hate speech shoved down their already conflicted throats. Most religions will tell you to reject who you are as a person, and that is by far the least effective (and most destructive way) of helping these people reach peace within their own heart. It's not like you can just wake up one day and turn off your gay switch, and many of you know that.
Like someone else stated earlier, gays are the LEAST of our problems as a species. Last time i checked, gay people werent the ones having all of these unplanned pregnancies, child abandonments and abortions. Those are the things that are really affecting the social structure of society. So, for the bible (or any religious book) to say that gays are an abomination, is clearly more evidence of the man-made bible (god) and it's man made ideologies. The same tactics have been responsible for racism, genocide and other countless ABOMINATIONS.
