maybe the ark of the covenant is no longer here on earth... it was last seen when the first temple was destroyed and according to revelations it is in the heavely Temple of God, isn't it?
Rev 11:19
[LEFT]And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

I am fairly sure that once these texts are deciphered, they will challenge many cherished assumptions of all Christians, including some of the more absolutist ones on this board.
That's what was said when the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. The DSS ended up verifying the accuracy of the OT as we know it.
Hey Insane you said on an earlier post on this thread "Very Interesting", do you mind me asking why?.
If it is indeed genuine, I just find it interesting in the sense that it adds to the rich history of religion which I enjoy studying. I am one of those "unbelievers" who believed Jesus existed so it is no threat to me. I just don't buy the over-the-top stuff (myth) that built up around him later on though. Probably the kind of guy you don't mind having dinner with, but certainly not one I'm worshiping on a cross and calling him "savior," if you get my drift.

Unless he told you if you don't repent you are going to ET.(Only joking).
I find it interesting that a former christian now athiest, enjoys the history of religion and relics of it that you can see.

That makes two of us. I am a nonbeliever, in part, due to the findings of archaeology and scientific research. Once I learned the true origins of the Old and New Testaments I could no longer believe.
But, I maintain an interest in continuing to learn about new archaeological discoveries.

Yeah, I'm kinda weird like that. lol
You see, I LOVE perspective. I love to understand the "whys" behind why we do things (traditions, routines, rituals, beliefs). Religion has shaped so much of world history and WHY we do the things we do or believe the things we believe so it stands to reason I would find great interest in trying to track the sources and/or the evolution of various beliefs. Studying how, say for example, Persian religion (Zoroastrianism) apparently influenced Judaism which influenced Christianity and Islam is a prime example or studying the evolution of early Christianit(ies) and watching the confusing, bickering mess it evolved into through the centuries is yet another.
