Yes. I didn't actually surrendered my life until those things, plus my pride, finally took me to the point that I had no other choice than to surrender.

It was either that or suicide. In spite of claiming Christ as my Lord and Master, I continued right on trying to be "better" under my own authority and totally wrecked my life. God let me go until I recognized what I had been doing, then rescued me and restored my life beyond what it had been before. I feel like Job.
