What's the use or purpose in obeying God... like He says to do... especially after the Messiah? Why is this so important to God? Does God profit from our obedience and commitment to Him? Does He in fact expect from us the utmost holiness in our lives? Why?
Could it be for the benefit of our fellow neighbors, those created in the very likeness of God to be His children.
If of course there is no final judgement and all will be with Him forever then its of no use to represent God or obey the commission of the Messiah. But, if there is going to be people who don't make it in and this is our last chance then... we need to be a holy people.
Behold and read a taste of what your heavenly father has in store for you. That is why we obey God. He created life for us on Earth for his glory #1, and #2, so we can enjoy it, 3# Earth is basically a test for everyone on Earth if they are worthy of #4, Paradise aka Heaven where we deemed worthy to be in his glorious kingdom for eternity. Heaven is constant and full of activity! There's tons of awesome sights, sounds, and smells. Heaven is everything beautiful and good on Earth X 1M. Once you read those testimonies I linked, you will find out why we worship God and why we must obey him until our deaths from this Earth.

Walking in obedience to God's Word glorifies Him...this is how He knows who loves Him above their own lustful, sinful desires. He calls His own to be separate from the world [sin] and holy.
1 John 5:3 This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,

Yes, He absolutely does...if we expect Him to be in us, and us in Him. Nothing less will do.
1 John 2:5 But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him:

Yes...all that we do is not only for ourselves, but equally for our brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus...and for the world out there to see what it is to live for God in Spirit and in Truth...there will be some who will want what we have...and we must always be ready to impart what God has given to us...to pour out...so that He can fill us yet again...

That is correct O Ducky...accountability is the key word here...being responsible for your own actions...and being prepared to gave an account on that Final Day of Judgement before the LORD our King and Righteous Judge.
I am convinced those who walk in the love of God which when all said and done is the will of God made manifest , do not know they are obeying, they just are. Love is not puffed up that it thinks highly of itself by thinking it is doing something others are not. Love IS, Love does not obey anything,it just IS. Everything eventually yields to love, love is the greatest(unless you believe the will of man is greater than God IS love).

Do you have kids? Is it important to you that they obey you?
Do you know what you would look like after you spent three days in the belly of a great fish like Jonah who was disobedient to the call of the Lord ?....... Well if you didn`t drown then you would come out bleached white were Jonah went on to Nineveh and told them the judgment white as a ghost........ Disobedience is frowned on in Heaven and rewards can be lost ......Jesus said in Matthew 6: 21...``For where your treasure is, there will your heart also be .....``

In other words, doing something for the benefit of others isn't a good enough reason for you ("it's of no use") unless you're going to be judged in the end. Then maybe it's a good thing for the rest of us that you do believe you're going to be judged.
