I want to dedicate this especially to my dear friend Sparrow, wherever she may be. I was thinking about my own state lately, how I have allowed discontent to steal my peace. And just a couple of minutes ago - the thought "Choose Peace" popped into my mind. So I decided to 'Google' the phrase. And this was the first link I clicked on.
Choose Peace

This is the truth - the absolute truth. Peace is a choice we must make over and over again as we pass through a troubled world. The scriptures refer to God as THE GOD OF ALL PEACE. God IS Love. And God is the GOD OF ALL PEACE AS WELL. The god of religious bondage is a false god. The god of religion is a tyrant who holds people in the prison of the mind.

I cast off anger this moment. I reject the discontentment of ego. I welcome the stillness and quiet peace of God. Amen.

That's right Sister, you choose peace over everything else. It's hard to get to that place but it can be done, it's a matter of letting things go that aren't important to your immediate family or yourself. I've had to do a lot of "peace-making" in my life, and I'm finally to a point where I'm happy and peaceful and content. Man, there is not enough good things in the world that can be said for "peace"!!!! Jesus had it right.

Hi Heartsong!
Beautiful words, both yours and the ones on the site you gave. Thank you!

Jesus is the Prince of Peace. The Peacemakers are the True Children of God! There is a lot of struggle and deception in this world. We can make a difference by standing up for peace, sharing our peace, encouraging others to make peace.

The Kingdom of God is righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Awesome!!

Blessings of peace to you and all here!
brian

Amen. You are right, it's the absolute truth.
Choose peace. I loved the link (and printed it out) and everything you have said here.
Thank you, my friend.
If I could hug you right now, I would.

peace,
sparrow

What a blessing it has been to be able to humble ones self to accept the peace He offers..

"Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification. " Romans 14:19

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phillipians 4:7

GREAT POST AND GREAT LINK HEARTSONG!!!

AFTERTHOUGHT: Personally, I was never able to find peace inside of eternal torment theology. I never could, nor will I ever be able to enjoy peace while trying to believe that God will let some of us choose ourserlves into an inescapable state of everlasting suffering (Arminian), or by trying to believe that we all deserve to suffer forever just by being born into the human race (Calvinist).

Forgot to click on instant email notification.
Don't know how to do it after posting without posting something else.
Does anyone know if it is even possible?

Roger,

Thank you. Do you mean you forgot to click on 'email notification when someone posts in this thread' ? I've never done that, so I don't know if you can do it without posting again (as you did) and selecting it. Hope that worked for you.

Thank you, everyone for your beautiful and uplifting responses to this post.

Peace - in that name of Christ be with all who are reading this.

Heartsong
