If anyone is interested, here are some free online audio Extension courses from Chafer Theological Seminary. They include studies in:
The history of doctrine; A study of the historical development of selected doctrines, with attention to the development of each theological theme from the church fathers to the present day.
Israelology; A systematic theology of what the Scriptures say in regard to the people of Israel.
The Jewish life of Christ; A thematic study of the Life of Jesus the Messiah with a special emphasis on Jewish, Rabbinic and cultural backgrounds. This course will include all four gospels by the use of a harmony.

I would also suggest that anyone using Itunes (it's free to download), there is a section called "Itunes U" -- like the Itunes Store. When you go into it, you can find lectures from probably 200 different universities around the country. There are a few excellent seminaries that put video and audio of their lectures up on it for free. You can download and listen to all kinds of free lectures from Dallas Seminary, Southwestern Baptist, Fuller, etc. No..you don't get credit for it, but you will learn a bunch.
Of course, you can also find lectures from secular universities on a wide range of topics, which I've also done. It's something to listen to in the car, or when I'm at my desk at work.
Mike, do you go to the CTS or did you find them online? I took their Greek classes when they were in CA. They do have good classes and good teachers.
No, I haven't attended the Seminary. Dr. Robert L. Dean Jr., the Chairman of the Governing Board for Chafer Theological Seminary, posts the Extension courses on his website, Dean Bible Ministries
His biography states that 'Dr. Dean trained for the ministry at Dallas Theological Seminary where he earned a Th.M. in Hebrew and Old Testament Studies and later returned to pursue a Ph.D. in theological studies with an emphasis in Historical Theology. He also earned an M.A. in Philosophy from the University of St. Thomas (1987) and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Faith Evangelical Seminary (2002).'
His own audio Bible classes are found in the following part of his website ---> DeanBible.org: Audio Files

Thanks for posting that. Do you know if 'Itunes' will work with a phone dial up connection which is what I have, or do you need a high speed internet connection to be able to use it?

It's just a computer program that you start wehn you're connected...but to be honest, the file sizes are fairly large. It would take awhile via dial-up. Itunes itself is something like 40 mb to download. it would take awhile to download it.

It's the same with YouTube. It takes about an hour for me to download a 10 minute YouTube video. Which is why I usually don't do it. So to download an hour long class would indeed take a while. Still, it could be done overnight.
These audio classes I listen to play without any delay.

I'm considering a move to the country--to a tiny town of about 30 people. They don't have high speed internet there...except for satellite. It's going to kill me if I have to go dial up. I don't know how you can stand it...I'd probably be hanging out at Starbucks a lot in the next town over to use the free wi fi.
