I think the best answer to this question comes right out of Jesus' mouth in John 6:28-29.
Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
Jesus had the perfect opportunity to list all the things we have to do to meet God’s requirements. Jesus could have listed the 10 commandments and even warned about what one should do to maintain his salvation (for those of you who think that a Christian can lose his Salvation). He could have repeated the Sermon on the Mount. He could have listed any number of restrictions necessary to achieve and maintain God’s expectations of us.
But what did He say? “Believe in the one He has sent.” Period. It was a repeat of John 3:16, confirming that belief in that the Son is the one and only requirement for salvation.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Jesus' answer was "This is the work of GOD." Not the work the antredd, BHFT, etc. God works in each person to bring them to belief in Him. In that chapter (John 6), verse 65 says, `Because of this I have said to you -- No one is able to come unto me, if it may not have been given him from my Father.' .

Here is what people are going to do: hassle us about and call us judgmental for speaking God's truth.
Strong confessions of faith place the burden on the other person's conscience.
Those who object don't want to hear that salvation doesn't involve anything other than belief .....
“Believe in the one He has sent.” Period. !!

Is this the same twin.spin that argued you must be baptized to be saved in that other thread?

Yes. Eternal salvation is free for the asking. It's free for us because of the price that Jesus Christ paid to make salvation a reality for those who place their faith in Christ. Faith is non-meritorius. That is, man can take no credit for his faith in Christ. Faith is a response to the gospel. 'So faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of Christ.' (Romans 10:17).
The question was asked. ''What must I do to be saved?'' Acts 16:30
The answer was given. ''Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved...'' Acts 16:31

You don't believe in Jesus as the scriptures intended to convey unless you follow the Master in obedience. The devils believe in Jesus and tremble; so, if your belief in without obedience (conditional), then your belief is no better than the devils -- and we know that they won't inherit the kingdom of God. So, what shall your end be?
In that post, you've touched upon the glorious Gospel of Christ and the sinners justification. Some of the things you mentioned in that post were:
Justification is what God has done for us by his grace through the merits of Christ
Justificationis finished, accomplished forever by the completed sacrifice of Jesus.
God’s justificationcaused our salvation
Justification is the result of God’s exclusive work for us in Christ; there is no human participation whatsoever.
Justification has given us a new status before God
All those things are true and scriptural. And perhaps also found in your Luthern confessions.
And, with that said, please consider this scripture, within that context:
Rom 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Well that would be great if that's all Jesus ever said, not to mention the rest of the New Testament. You have to see the whole picture, not just what you choose to see.
Salvation comes by obedient faith, not by faith alone, which is what you are saying.
