The circumference of the OP argument is greater than the black hole at the center of the Milky Way.

The Bible is full of allegory and a great book to follow as a Christian, however it cannot be true word by word. Too many humans have altered the book during translations. It is a great brochure for a Christianity, but there is a whole lot more to Christianity that just the Bible.

Even if it has been altered during translations, could we not compare several translations and then, if there is disagreement between them, refer back to the thousands of Greek or Hebrew manuscripts still in existence and check what they said?

The Bible is a great book, but to assume the word of Jesus is contained in a few passages in the NT is not logical. There are many things about God that are unknown and cannot be understood.

Furthermore, the passages in the Bible themselves are not the word of God. The word of God is the interpretation of MANKIND where one uses reason and logic. Allegoric fantastic tales should be acknowledged as such. Anti-homosexuality rhetoric should be taken in context of the biblical era and not applied to the present era.

Well, the earliest manuscripts in existence only date to the 3rd or 4th Century A.D. We have no manuscripts between the original writings and that point. And the manuscripts we do have show they have been corrected some 20,000 times and are missing some verses found in modern day translations.

For example, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone" does not exist in the earliest manuscripts.

No, we don't have the originals anymore but why would we think the thousands of Greek manuscripts still in existence (and the even greater number of early translations into other languages) would not be faithful copies of the originals? With it being so widely distributed even if one family of manuscripts got something wrong all the other copies that had been made elsewhere would have that bit right and by comparing all the copies we have we could get a consensus of what the correct text was?

Sure there are 20000 minor scribal errors such as differences in spelling or grammar here and there and some include verses that others leave out, but what if any major doctrines of the faith are in any way affected by these variants?

Isn't 99.5 percent of the New Testament the same no matter which version you have or use.

If the Bible is so perfect and if Jesus is so important, why doesnt the Bible say anything about Jesus' activities between the ages of 12 and 30? I mean where was he? Hanging with Mary Magdalene?

The faith that the bible is 100% accurate. If one thing is wrong, who is to say what else is wrong?
