best toys (quiet) for toddlers to play with during church??

Man, all I got were Lifesavers. Church ran about an hour, and I knew there were 11 Lifesavers in the pack, so I'd have the first one five minutes into church, then another in five minutes, and when they were gone I knew church was almost over.
We weren't allowed to bring toys or anything. We could use the pencils from the pew and draw on the bulletin.
When I got bored during the sermon, I used to stare at Reverend Gaston's head and try not to blink until everything around his head disappeared and it was just floating there talking all by itself. Tell the kids to try that. It will keep them quiet for a few minutes.
Perhaps your church should offer child care, toddlers cannot sit silently through a bunch of stuff they cannot understand, nor should the be expected to. They are toddlers.
