WASHINGTON – The Vatican has launched a crackdown on the umbrella group that represents most of America's 55,000 Catholic nuns, saying that the group was not speaking out strongly enough against gay marriage, abortion and women's ordination.

Rome also chided the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) for sponsoring conferences that featured "a prevalence of certain radical feminist themes incompatible with the Catholic faith."

I don't think the Vatican realizes or remembers what generally happens when a powerful regime, that does not have absolute power, attempts to crack down on its subjects. The strategies in Machiavelli's "The Prince" only work if one is willing to or able to take one's crack down all the way to the extreme.

It's time to cull nuns, priests and catholic lay folks. Believe or not, your choice. But if you don't, hit the road.

Quality, before quantity.

An attitude that should embarrass a Neanderthal . . . let alone ANYONE in the 21st century.

Matthew 23

1Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,

2Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:

3All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

4For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

5But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,

6And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,

7And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.

8But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

9And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

The passage says it all.

It's almost like the catholics are trying to quicken their demise.

The problem is that sisters are thinking for themselves, no one says it in those words, but that’s the bottom line: you’re thinking for yourself, and we don’t like that.

When sisters don’t agree, they sometimes raise their voices. The Catholic Church has long recognized that an individual’s first duty is to obey his or her conscience, but the bishops say that any conscience that conflicts with their teaching is a conscience in error.
Any questioning is seen as disloyal, even heretical—bishops aren’t used to being questioned. It’s easy for bishops to get an overblown sense of their own importance.”
