Intimacy is important to a healthy relationship, and many Christians are timid when discussing physical intimacy even though we have the book, Song of Soloman (also known as Song of Songs). Allow for open-mindedness and offer your thoughts.
Some of the more fanciful sermons that I have ever heard were those where the preacher tried to explain the "love" mentioned in The Song was the love of God for the Christian Church. The Church being the Bride.
I'll bet pre-teens still sit on the back row during services and giggle over those verses.
I have heard representations of both the love between two people and the love God has for the church. Wouldn't it be great if we could love one another like that?

I'm not timid about discussing this with my husband, after that, it's no one else's business.

I agree. The details need to stay within the marriage relationship.
That being said, I think that the church is doing a disservice to it's attendees by sweeping the topic of sex under the rug. It is possible to address it tastefully so as not to offend anyone. We can't ignore this as it is something that society in general has to trouble bringing up. You can't even turn on your television without being bombarded with sexual images. If you expect people to adhere to Biblical teaching regarding the topic of sex, then you need to teach about it. Just my thoughts...take 'em or leave 'em.

Dojilynn,
I absolutely agree w/ you here. As Christians, we cannot sweep the issue of sex under the rug as you've said. Why? Everything in the Bible is of God---including sex. I support your statement that if Christians are expected to adhere to biblical teaching about sex, then we need to talk about it.
Who's a Christian Ostrich, him or her being the one w/ their head in the sand?
