NOVI, Mich., Feb. 17 (UPI) -- A Michigan pastor said nearly 9,000 volunteers came together and prepared more than 2 million meals to be shipped to needy children around the world.
Brad Powell, a senior pastor with NorthRidge Church, said nearly 9,000 volunteers with three churches pitched in between noon Friday and 4 p.m. Sunday to assemble 2,029,536 dried meals at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi for 5,560 kids to receive one meal per day for a year, the Detroit News reported Monday.
