Walk By Faith

At some point in all of our lives, we are all going to face some form of discouragement. We get discouraged for the most part by other people, and sometimes we even get ourselves discouraged. It is, some would say, human nature. None of us is perfect, and nothing is always going to go our way. This leads me to ask, did Jesus ever get discouraged? If He did, what did He do to overcome it?

I think Jesus faced discouragement, but not with himself, and I certainly don’t think He let it get to Him. The bible is not specific on His discouragement, for it doesn’t say “ …and He was discouraged”; like it says in John “He wept”. However, we do see parts in His ministry where the “lack of faith” of others, was a discouragement. In Matthew 17:15-17 we have the lack of faith from the father of the sick boy, and the disciples in casting the demon out. In Mark 4:40, Jesus scolds the disciples for their lack of faith during the storm. Yet, His discouragement only seems to last for a moment. He scolds, and then returns to loving on people and teaching them. You see, Jesus was always, at all times, following the will of God, our Father. If it was in the will of God to keep on loving and teaching and healing; well, then Jesus never missed a beat. How did Jesus do this? He walked by Faith.

Corinthians 5:6-9 (ESV)
6 So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord,
7 for we walk by faith, not by sight.
8 Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
9 So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him.

Paul, like most of us, just longed to be at home with Jesus. He wanted to look on His face every day for all eternity, to forever rest in His presence. One could almost say, it was a near point of discouragement for Paul. Paul was a witness to so many miracles, to a million supernatural moments of God moving. Many came to know Jesus from the ministry God gave Paul, and yet so many refused to turn from their lives, and give their lives to Jesus. Paul says in regards to this, that we “walk by faith, and not by sight”. We walk by the will of God, and not by the will of man. By walking in the will of God, we are aiming to please Him. Many will lack in their faith, many will refuse to have faith; however, we should still walk by Faith, for we serve our Father, and not man.

No matter what kind of discouragement you are facing today, please remember to walk by faith. Jesus most likely felt it, Paul and the disciples felt it, even your pastor has felt it; yet we continue to walk by faith. If it is in the will of God, He will make it happen on His time, and in His way. Seek God in your discouragement, and do not rely on your own understanding. Rely on God, He is the cornerstone; He is your foundation. Lay your discouragement down at the feet of Jesus, after all, He knows how you feel.

Proverbs 3:1-6 (ESV)
1 My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments,
2 for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you.
3 Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

How are things that are discouraging affecting your life, or have affected parts of your life? How did you overcome, or are overcoming the discouragement?

Amen,, I say brother Forster...Amen!

Yes, I do strive earnestly to achieve my Walk of Faith, and I see you do as well my brother in Christ Jesus. For it is my free will choice to to say to God my Father..."My will is that Your Will be done, nothing more, nothing less, nothing else...Amen, I say." I freely choose my Fathers Will over my own or the will of this dark world, because I can, because I choose so, because I want to, because I can. Simply put!

Yes, I am there with Paul as well. After my personal experience I had with my Lord Christ Jesus when I was 16 years of age, I have had this desire for Christ Jesus just as Paul has had, but I let this cold and dark world poison me and I never had a chance to experience this wonderful gift graced upon me then. Now, that I am older and now so much more closer to my Christ Jesus, my Father God, and filled with the Holy Spirit, and I am once more having this same desire as Paul had.

I long to go home, but until then...."It is all about Him, and what can I do for Him"...Amen, I say!

Where is your heart truly at, where is your walk in Faith at?

....Peace be with you, as peace I leave you with from my heart!

Brother Michael- I have never, ever in my 20 yr walk ever hear anyone else say this,""My will is that Your Will be done, nothing more, nothing less, nothing else."" except my quote adds- "at all cost"

One time I was asked- "What will you NOT give to me?" and I think, in the end- it is all about simple love and simple obedience.

Amen, I say! Yes brother or sister tinytrump, it is all about Father God, and through Christ Jesus I have reached Him, and soon I will see His face when that appointed time comes to pass. Yes, I say with all my heart and mind to Father God in Christ Jesus' mighty name..."My will is that Your will be done, nothing more, nothing less, nothing else!." I NOT only mean His will be done in me, but in others, in my family, in this world, and in the Body of Christ Jesus..."US", which defines all the sons and daughters of the living God". This is something that is not just said or written, it is my LIFE.

Yes, amen, I say...."At all cost!"

I give Him my life and all my time He so needs, as nothing is of no more importance than what I can do for Him. It is all about His love and compassion, and simply put....simple and complete obedience. It is all about "Standing out in Faith, so we may Walk by Faith and not by sight or by flesh. Amen, I say!

....Peace be with you, as peace I leave you from my heart!
