Not dodging anything, what do I gain by dodging truth?. When you read scripture you have to read it for what it is saying to you,for everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
The lost sheep meaning says to me that I was lost, and I was found,that is what scripture teaches me.
What can you possibly get of value for yourself from "he came to seek and save the lost",is referring to someone other than yourself, but being so narrow minded that you believe you are part of some exclusive lost sheep club ?.

You seem to be under the mistaken impression that the group He was initially sent to defines the group His mission encompasses. It does not. Much as it might tickle your ears to think so . . . there are NO special or exclusive groups or people to God. Christ came to save our entire species from eternal separation from God, period. He DID that. It is finished. Our task is to sanctify our lives under His love and grace so that as much as possible of our life on earth survives with us after death (Thirty, sixty or a hundredfold) . . . less hay, straw, wood and more gold, silver, etc.
