Default Christianity > Is Salvation Just About A Loving Heart ?

Yes. Christ did not come to save Bible believers nor did He command anyone to believe the Bible 100%. There was no Bible for Him to refer to . . . only the OT scriptures that were the "schoolmaster" for our ancient ancestors. But He DID command us to "love God and each other" daily and repent when we don't to satisfy ALL the laws of God.

No...that's really not it. Christ said that was a fulfillment of the OT Law. But you're not saved by the Law. Because we can't do that.....we rely on Christ's sacrifice for our sins.

You misunderstand. Christ DID the saving . . . we have nothing to do with our salvation. We are sanctified/justified under His grace and love for us ALL when we "love God and each other" daily and repent when we don't.

We are saved by grace through faith in Christ -- because we can't fulfill the Law. Not even to love God and each other.

But because we are saved by Grace, the Law now tells us what a good deed is. We seek to do those things not out of an attempt to be saved or to gain salvation -- but out of gratitude. Perhaps you are meaning that? I likely just am that dull....it seemed as if you were saying that love and good deeds saves us.

Close enough. NOTHING we do saves us. Christ DID that. We are sanctified under His grace and love for us all BY LOVING. It "puts us in tune with" or "harmonizes our souls with" Christ.

Salvation isn't about a whole lot of reqirements as Jesus Christ made it possible for we sinners to be save by his death on the cross and God made a simple stipulation of "believeing" in the Son of man.

Some christian faiths kick it up a notch by treating baptism as a command (not a work at all). They refer to Peter's formula in Acts 2:38-39 Repent all of you and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of you sins and you shall (not maybe) receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (baptism of the HS) This promise (not maybe) is for you and your children and those far off (gentiles).

Why Jesus name ...why not?
How do you know you have reveived the gift? ....Evidenced by tongues.
Who are the gentiles (you ...duh)
What about Matt 28:19 and the triune baptism? Jesus said go out baptizing in the Name (singular)
hint: He was referring to himself! Peter got that! Early church felt Jesus'
name couldn't hold water by itself (welcome to religion and Justin Martyr)

A third group simply believes that "nice" gets you a ticket to heaven hmmmm (self righteous?)
