I do not believe in the two ways that the doctrines of men would have us believe that the same God would have us love nd destroy ou enemies.
Not us, but rather God will destroy His enemies. Jesus warned of it.

You destroy your enemies, when you make them your friend.

That's true! Scripture indicates that not all will take that offer.

The enemy of God has never been man, its always been the state he fell into. This is why he is called the Savior of all men.

James 4:4

4 You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

The world spoken of here is the world system, not the citizens of it. How hard is to comprehend that the sun shines upon the righteous and unrighteous ?.

For God so loved the world.......

OK...

4 You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world (system) is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world (system) makes himself an enemy of God.

Doesn't really change the meaning, does it?

It is not speaking of literal adultery but adultery with the system of this world.

To the woman caught in adultery....Where are they that condemn you ?.You need to understand the spirit in which scripture is written, thenyou will understand that God is not at war with mankind, but with that which keeps him from him.

But of him are younin Christ Jesus, who was made unto us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption.

Try the world's religious systems (paraphrased):

You who have committed adultery, do you not know that friendship with humanities religion is hostility toward the Spirit?
Therefore, whoever desires to be a friend of humanities religion's and idol worship are in opposition to the Spirit itself.
