Yes, it is enlightening once your consider what it is saying. So many believe that in order to destroy sin you must destroy the sinner. Throwing the baby out with the bathwater. But the reality is that God can destroy the nature of sin without destroying the sinner by removing the nature of sin from a sinner. So they will no longer desire to sin. This shows that God is more powerful than many portray Him to be. And anytime we portray Him less than what He is - we defame Him (defamation in the Bible uses the term Blasphemy).
