Amaznjohn,

re: "Also, doesn't He know everything that is going to happen?"

And if He does, and if He has any input into the creation of a person, and if He knows before He creates the person that He will eventually be tossing the person into the lake of fire, why do you suppose He goes ahead and creates the person anyway?

Exactly right. This question could easily be used as evidence in the thread "God is not great". It seems that no one here has an answer as to why believers should pray to their God to try to change his will or why to pray that his will be done, when obviously it will be regardless, as they believe.

But the truth of the matter is that God so loved us that He gave His only begotten Son to die on the cross that we can be saved. See 2 Peter 3:[9] The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. If we perish it is because we love darkness and refuse to accept Christ as our Savior, when He is standing at the door and knocking, ready to forgive us of all our past sins. Jesus said in Matt. 5:[6] Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. I believe that if we seek Him [See Jer. 29:[13] And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart - He has promised that He will give us the Spirit of the Holy Ghost which can direct us in all aspects of our life so that we are delivered from the fear of eternal destruction.
