Let us search and try our ways!
Lam 3:40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.
Lam 3:41 Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.
Lam 3:42 We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.

Pardon can only come to those who truly turn away from their transgressions, and rebellion against God.
One must search their heart, to truly see their ways are evil and not of God, who has given them many opportunities to turn, repent, and seek His great mercy, while they still have breath.
But this takes a conscience, free will decision, to come clean and clear before God, expecting nothing from Him except the punishment they deserve.
Lifting up your heart and hands unto God, is much more than a superficial gesture made from a still carnal heart, with absolutely no intention to stop their rebellion and disobedience to God, because they were taught they cannot choose God, obey God, or even be declared righteous before God by just repenting and living a pure and holy life unto the bitter end.
Most today under the strong delusion think they get saved (sinners prayer) they confess, trust and believe, void of any real transformation in their heart, they remain carnal, sold under sin in reality but are constantly told they are free, they are delivered, and they are soundly saved forever, while they are still defiled, and remain a slave to sin, and the ways of the world.
Pardon and mercy are there, but apart from real repentance (sin stops) and real faith (faithful to Gods commands) then it’s all in vain!

Hos 12:6 Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.
Tommy

People who turn to Jesus , then do not develop their righteousness of Jesus , live a life of dry legalism with out Jesus spirit , or fail to understand the fear of God and fall back to the world and never grow in the spirit of Christ ....Sound like faithless in the promise of Christ , and people do not receive the spirit of Christ for their development in Christ for their walk with Jesus and build on the fruits of the spirit for eternal life , and the exercise of the Gifts of Holy Spirit for the great commission of souls for Heaven .......Sure I have seen people who claim they are saved , but the works of the flesh are their lives , and may be a form of godliness but no power is achieved , and poor discernment of the spirits is common ......Jesus said in John 3:3-8....``Except a man be born again of water and of the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God ..That is born of the flesh is flesh , and that is born of Spirit is spirit ``............ See being born again of water is repentance , and cleansing through the Spirit , as God is spirit ``............So if people get so called born again with faithless legalism of God words only but do not receive from God , and then even get baptized but no repentance , and have not laying on of hands to receive the cleansing of the spirit ...... Then the leaders of the new converts are failing in their faith with God in teaching the new converts the ways of Jesus commands , or the leaders are not saved themselves or poorly developed in Christ and His callings or the new converts are failing by not listening ......

Excellent points, well formulated, documented and presented. I have often pondered how many professing salvation indeed are, or are even of the elect. I sat half my life in a church thinking I was saved by doing all they told me to do, only to learn I was not. Waking up one day as I did (actually it was more of a process) and finding you've been misled, then having family and friends look down upon you for questioning, challenging and leaving to follow God is not easy.

God Bless.

Good posting .
Jesus taught obedience ,
Jesus lived obedience ,
God expects obedience .
Jesus provided the Hoy Spirit so that we could be obedient, knowing His voice and responding.
Matthew 5; through Matthew 7;
God does not compromise with sin, then, now, or ever.
Repentance is called for first .
Sin =is the absence of obedience . i.e. Adam disobeyed one simple direct instruction one might have even understood as a safety issue .like don't touch the poison Ivy.
Moses failed, striking the rock, in stead of speaking to the rock, as he was clearly instructed.
Afraid of what men thought rather then what God thought, using the rod as he had been instructed previously.
This act lost him,his access to the promised land.
God does not want us relying on tradition or what he instructed some one else .
Jesus did a great many things that were extraordinary rarely duplicating the same action on similar needs.
Obedience comes of a relationship, and with out a relationship one cannot be obedient.
John 15; Jesus makes it clear that some one is connected and not producing the Father cut's them off and the are burned. In other words NO leaches .
Jesus emphasized the value of productivity many times ,not the product of one's own govern, but that of God's govern.
Jesus said the way is narrow, and few there be that find it .
Loving God is key . means also obeying Him as well. one on one.
the more one is accustomed to God's govern , the better prepared he is for heaven.
