not only the tree, but the gift giving, the ornaments, the lights remind us .... it's not our fault that the world is shallow.
In regards to that post:

The tree reminds us of Jesus
- How can something that you cut down and dies remind you of the one who lives forever.

The ornaments reminds us that Jesus is the "precious stone"
-
Most people uses the cheapest ornaments and many ornaments break with little to no effort, so they are no precious.

The lights on the tree remind us that Jesus is the light of the world
-
With the right mindset, one can look at it like that since Jesus is the light of the world, but the lights are mainly just to jazz the tree up more and make it more flashy.
The presents under the tree remind us of the wise men
-
They gave gifts to Jesus because he was a king and it is customary still to bring gifts to a king. They did not buy gifts for each other and encourage others to go and buy each other gifts for each other and go broke in the process of doing so.

The presents under the tree remind us of the spiritual gift of faith
-Presents have nothing to do with blind faith. You dont know what your getting and many times end up with what you dont want or didnt ask for. We know what we want with Jesus and know we will get the gift of eternal life.

Hebrews 11

11 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

And you dont need gifts, balloons, candles, and getting drunk on your bday to be thankful, but a party kept Christlike like all other aspects of your life that should be kept Christlike isnt wrong either.

I know no Christians areworshipping Nimrod or any of the other made up pagan idols Sun Gods people worshiped back then either, so the whole argument of Christan are worshiping another God by celebrating Christmas is null and void. The issue many have with Christmas is, you know all the original pagan aspects of that time and you still do a carbon copy of some of if, but have just slapped the name Jesus on top of it now.

The more I look at the feast days, it is clear God does everything according to those days. That is why I think he was born in September. Born the 1st day and probably circumcised according to jewish custom on the 8th day of the feast, the last great day. These are All assumptions, but they make much more sense that what has been passed down to us.

Feast of Lights- Conceived
Tabernacles - Birth of Jesus..............9 months later after Feast of Lights
Passover- Died on the Cross............. 6 months later (died at 33 yr & 6 months old)
Unleavened Bread- Was without sin... Part of Passover
First Fruits- Rose from the Dead........ Rose 3 days later
Pentecost- Received the Holy Spirit....49 days after resurrection

But im sure we would just have xmas sales after July 4th or labor day and it would just be a giant retail holiday in September after a while like it is now.

Instead of Black Friday we could have Black Sabbath.

yes. the day doesn't matter. That day was picked to ease the transition from one religion into another anyway.

I prefer to celebrate a birthday. Preferably with cake. Jesus loved a party. I love the family, the presents, the shopping, the baking and the energy of the season.

I do not celebrate the tortuous screaming death of Jesus.

I do not understand wearing, or praying to a cross either. If Jesus were stoned, we would wear giant rocks around our necks. It is inconceivable.

There are valid reasons to believe that the first Christmas was indeed celebrated
by the visiting Magi on December 25, 2 B.C. This is based on astronomical patterns
and their Biblical meanings, here is an explanation. If you don't have the patience
to watch the entire presentation, start around 50 minutes in.

There are NO valid reasons to believe that the first Christmas was indeed celebrated
by the visiting Magi on December 25, 2 B.C because there was no such thing called Christmas back then anyways and the 1srt recorded Celebration of Christmas was around 336AD by Rome, because Jews never really put emphasis on birthdays.

God does EVERYTHING according to HIS calendar. Jesus was born during the Feast of Tabernacles which is late September/early October. Jesus was 33 1/2 years old, so if you forward 6 months from the Feast of Tabernacles, it take you right to Passover, which is when he died., so A late December birth is already ruled out.
