We can do nothing of our self, but we CAN do all things through Christ as the Word and by the Spirit strengthens us. Before Christ, we did not have the helper being the HOLY SPIRIT of God.
So we can only come as we are, for we are not able in our own strength to get cleaned up, but we don't just stand there for it takes time and works led of the Holy Spirit as we move FORWARD in Christ to be conformed to his image.
