I am wondering what it will say to receive the holy spirit, (Like in\after the baptism) and how will it feel ? Is the holy spirit the being\personality of God that emanates from God himself, and will it feel like Gods personality ?

There is nothing in the Bible that indicates that a Christian can feel the presence of the Holy Spirit. If you think about it, it really does make sense either. We have 5 sense, hearing, taste, touch, sight and sound. These senses interact with the material world. But God is Spirit. There is no sense to sense spirits.

Awe... one of my favorite subjects in God's word, His truth !

The Holy Spirit as mention is not a feeling, yet by faith given to us (the believer) by God to know that He is the Third person of the Godhead....
He enables the believer to reflect God's holy character (Rom.8:13-14; Gal.5:22-23). He is the purifying and cleansing experience of God's perfect love, when we (just as the disciples) have repented of our sin and commit our lives to Christ.
The Holy Spirit becomes very important and is very involved in our, the believers life. He gives the believer a new boldness in witnessing, a fervor in devotion, and a new fruitfulness in service for God's kingdom.

There is scripture evidence in suggesting that the baptism with the Holy Spirit is a spiritual experience subsequent to conversion. As we know the disciples were already committed followers of Christ before they were filled with the Holy Spirit.
At the end of Jesus' ministry He talked with the Father concerning their relationship and need, "They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word" (John17:6). For these same men who already belonged to God, Jesus prayed, "Sanctify them by Your truth" (John 17:17). And to the same men our Lord commanded, "Wait for the Promise of the Father... you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now" (Acts1:4-5).

The involvement of the Holy Spirit, as Jesus describes Him as the Helper (John 16:7). He will help us to understand the truth about Christ (John 16:14) and will apply the work of Christ to our hearts.
He encourages us (Acts 4:31), He guides us ( John 16:13) and He illuminates the Scripture for us (John 16:14-15).
He gives us power (Acts1:8), He intensifies the love of God in us (Romans 5:5), and He helps in prayer (Romans 8:26). He strengthens our potential for Christian growth (Eph.3:16).

God's proposes not only to save His people from their sin but also to fill us with the Holy Spirit, as on the Day of Pentecost:

"Repent, and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" (Acts2:38).

While the Holy Spirit indwells every believer, yet God both offers and commands us to be completely filled with the Spirit (Eph.5:18).
As we know through the word of God this blessing is given only to Christ's followers who hunger for the Spirit and, in an act of faith, purposely open their lives to the dwelling of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus promised that the heavenly Father would "give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him" (Luke 11:13; Matt.5:6-8).
It is this life of a deeper relationship with God which Paul exhorts: "If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit" (Gal.5:25)..... amen !

Forgive me for being so long winded. Like I said, this is one of my favorite subjects....."the Person of the Holy Spirit and His work"..... and I can go on forever as you can see

Blessings to you

There appears to be a wide range of experience from nothing really perceived at once, but a change in attitudes and reactions to an ecstatic experience. Personally, I don't recommend the ecstatic experience as so MUCH of a believer's life afterwards so often becomes an attemt to relive that experience. I recall that Theresa of Calcutta had more or less ecstatic communication until she had her "marching orders" and set out on the life that would demonstrate the presence of the Spirit in her, at which time those inspiring experiences stopped.

It is a way of life, not a feeling.

The Holy Spirit is a person. He has a will (1 Cor 12:11), he speaks (Acts 8:29, 11:12), and is God (Acts 5). He can be offended, and he can direct you do act (Acts 16). He can be grieved (Eph 4:30).

He is the 3rd person of the Trinity. He is called God (Acts 5:3-4), He is a creator (Job 33:4), and He was present at creation (Gen 1:2). He is all-knowing (1 Cor 2:10-11). He is not "a god", since we know there is only one God (Deut 6:4). He is God Himself.

Jesus promised he would send the Holy Spirit (John 14) after he ascended to Heaven.

We receive the Holy Spirit at the moment of salvation. There is no special annointing where a person is guaranteed the ability to speak in tongues or anything like that. We are "sealed" with the Spirit at the time we become a child of God (Eph 4:30, 2 Cor 1:22, 2 Cor 5:5, Rom 8:23).

The believer does not feel the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit makes the believer feel.

Hans12, your going to have people tell you that the Holy Spirit is some third member of the Godhead (Trinity). I want you to understand that is nonsense. Here is why - you have a spirit in you. Your spirit is your very BEING. It makes you what is YOU. It is not the physical things that describe you but the personality of YOU. Likewise God's Spirit (The Father's Holy Spirit) is what defines His Personality. Now if you become as He is, then your spirit dies because you no longer exhibit who you were but begin to be as He is. So that your personality and His are the same. Hope that makes sense.

What's the name of the church that teaches that? Or is it your own idea? Please give a reasonable answer I'd seriously like to know what church teaches that, for I'm not familiar with that idea.
