"Where to or three are gathered in the lords name it is a committee" Is a cynicism. What is meant by that this saying is a cynicism? I have searched the dictionaries, but couldn't find the meaning in this case. Thanks

They always said that if you had three Englishmen stranded on a desert island, they would elect one President, one Vice-President, and the other Treasurer.

Since the Bible states (Matt. 18:20): "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them," ... I suppose one might consider it cynical to counter the Lord's affirmative promise ... with a derogatory comment about committees.

I would say that the point is that it is human to over-organize. For instance, in the case of the Englishmen on the island there would be no need for a treasurer....though a secretary would be a good idea...

So to consider the presence of the Lord for this promise and then have contempt and believe selfish interest of the Lord and His promise for to label it cynical with works of the flesh of the spirit of the false prophet who will demean God and devalue God ... Best to forsake the author of this harsh words for God and Gods Words which are meant to be a blessing

Consider the fact that organizations are dead and organisms are alive. Man creates organizations but God created unions. Where two or more are gathered... marriage is a joining of two to create one flesh. These are examples.

Look at the spirituality (precept) not the objectiveness of the principle.
