What do you think? I 've heard some views on this subject and wondered what some of you thought. Personally, I don't believe that he was created to be a perfect man. Thanks for sharing.

Well I think if you believe the bible you would have to believe he was created perfect. Now whether or not God intended him to remain so is a different question all together.

I believe all creation was perfect before the fall of man. Genesis 1:31

"God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day."

Do you think that God intended for Adam to sin? Where do the scriptures say that Adam was created perfect?

Do you think that the serpent was created perfect? How did sin enter if the creation was created perfect?

By the way, I do think that the creation was created perfect for God's plan, but I don't think that it was complete or whole or everything that God intended for it to be at that time if that makes sense!

There's a big difference between "very good" and perfect.

Shana, you will need to define what you mean by "perfect."

That is a question of semantics and how one defines the word "perfect."

The first definition in Merriam-Webster's dictionary for perfect is "being entirely without fault or defect." I believe the Creation was perfect at the end of the Sixth Day. I believe it was entirely without fault or defect until it was corrupted by sin.

I agree. If God intended for Adam to sin, what benefit would come out of it? Any thoughts? This is something that has been on my heart for awhile. God bless.

Thank you very much. I am thinking of both without fault and being complete or whole. I don't think that God was faulty in its creation, but that He created it defective or lacking something. Does that make sense? Where did sin come from and how did it get into the creation? It would not have entered if things had been entirely perfect, I am thinking...The serpent was more crafty, cunning than any of the beasts that God had made. Where did the craftiness and cunningness come from any way? Did God create it that way?

And I am not just thinking of sin on the earth, but also in the heavens.

Theologians have been debating this for centuries and nobody has come up with a final and definitive answer. Most of these arguments involve concepts of "free will."

Did God intend Adam to sin? I do not believe so. God gave Adam free will, which allowed Adam and Eve to choose to disobey God. This resulted in Adam and Eve falling out of fellowship with God. This separation with God is called sin.

What was God's intention? I believe God intends for all of mankind to live in perfect fellowship with Him, our Creator. God grieves over the fallen state of man and given the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.

I know your other post mentioned that you are Orthodox Jew and if this goes against your religion, I apologize. I do not intend to offend.

B'shalom.
