I used to think that the early Christians had their act together spiritually. Not like the "hypocrites" that we see today, or at least the way they are portrayed.
Well...maybe the earliest ones who followed Jesus had their act together. But they didn't start being persecuted until the time of Nero, or 30+ years after Jesus was crucified. With the shorter lifespans of that time, most of those people would not have been alive to have seen Jesus, and so all they really knew about him were the stories and/or legends that had been handed down.
It just made me wonder if they had the same kind of personalities you would find in contemporary people of Christianity. The ones who believe the literal stories. Stories that might have actually been embellished by the original authors.
Still many of the early Christian had issues like the churches from Revelations 2, and 3 , as people can get into doctrines which will be dry to Jesus Spirit , or they can get into injustices which will block Heaven from helping in any new ways for development ............... See man who get anointed in the wisdom and understanding which God gifts can bring with have a easier time with the lead of Christ, then the man who deny Christ and call them self Christians and teach indifference to the commands of Christ and justify it through the Word of God out of context , ..............Teaching others to hate or reject Jesus salvation and fail to see the Spiritual authority of the spirit of this world undiscerning ...... See there are good Christians and bad Christians in the past and today and probably in the future

addressing the OP only, "THERE IS NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN". that right there should answer the question. Yes the first organized church had problems right off the bat. read Acts chapter 6. even among the apostles themselves, especially Paul, (smile). all of us have different personalities . but one thing, or may I say, one PERSON ironed everything out, the Lord himself, the Holy Spirit, that was dwelling in them, as well as us. there was many confrontation in every church, but the word of God was the corrector. that's why we have these epistles, or letters to these different churches. they was design to help sort out conflicting views, and answer pressing questions.
nope, if you're human, you will have problems. but there is no problem that the Lord cannot solve. it's up to us to seek, and obey his instruction. just as temptation, God give us a way out, only if we take it.
be blessed.
