Stevie at 2 1/2 years old was found at the bottom of his grandparents pool in Florida
( sounds familiar?) Anyway, no one knows how long he was down. I was chillin on
my porch next door facing their house. Suddenly grandma was screaming we need
CPR !!!!. I immediately thought of the grandpa had a heart attack as he had a history.
As I entered the front door everyone was screaming at a level that has never left my
brain. There on the floor was a lifeless Stevie, a little child beyond cyanotic with an
all to familiar "death " look I have seen hundreds of times as a Respiratory Therapist
for 40 years back then. I checked his pulse and breathing......nothing! I began CPR
they visiting family in their hysteria gave the rescue squad the wrong address. I con-
tinued CPR, which I was trained to do even as an instructor so we have it made right?
NO! NO! and NO! Nothing was working so I continued CPR realizing the outcome was
bleak !! Now the screaming reached a crecendo virtually deafening ! I began to get
extremely nervous, sweating perfusely ,feeling cramped on the floor an losing this
kid. It's at that point I cried out to Jesus JESUS ! JESUS ! PLEASE HELP US!!! At that very
moment I turned the child head down and did an abdominal desufflation (aka a
Heimlich manuver) resulting on a pint of water gushing out on the floor! In now
a supine position began CPR getting perfusion (fixed dilated pupils now constricted)
and shallow beathng assisted with mouth to mouth. Plrase see outcome as I'm run-
nimg ot of thread time.

Once in the hospital Stevie went into cardiac arrested three times . My then director
said the doc on duty felt they were losing him saying he will be brain damaged at
at best. They intubated and continued bagging until transferred to All Chlldrens.
At All Childrens they placed Stevie on a vent and in a drug induced coma to reduce brain swelling and control oxygen consumption. During his care they had to do a
tracheostomy ( they had intubated him with a small adult 6 mm endotube at my
original hospital causing tracheal stenosis) After two weeks he was wreaned and
recovered. The trach tube was removed in one year scar tissue removed from the
trachea and he is good to go!
Hallelujah Praise the Lord .......... See this is what we call milk doctrine of Christ , as Jesus sees our persistence in faith with Him and sees our authority in Christ , and see a purpose for bringing a life back to the earth , and the boy returns to His life bringing a witness of raising the dead for this generation
