From the opening post:

KJV:
"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman..."
ERV:
“If a man has sexual relations with another man as with a woman..."

No one can find a loophole in that. It nails both the sin and sinners and there is no escaping the fact of what is being referred to here.

Here is this same verse in some other translations:

(ASV) And if a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

(BBE) And if a man has sex relations with a man, the two of them have done a disgusting thing: let them be put to death; their blood will be on them.

(Bishops) If a man also lye with mankinde after the maner as with women kynde, they haue both committed an abhomination: let them dye, their blood be vpon them.

(Brenton) And whoever shall lie with a male as with a woman, they have both wrought abomination; let them die the death, they are guilty.

(CEV) It's disgusting for men to have sex with one another, and those who do will be put to death, just as they deserve.

(Darby) And if a man lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall certainly be put to death; their blood is upon them.

(DRB) If any one lie with a man as with a woman, both have committed an abomination: let them be put to death. Their blood be upon them.

(ESV) If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.

(Geneva) The ma also that lyeth with the male, as one lyeth with a woman, they haue both committed abomination: they shall dye the death, their blood shalbe vpon them.

(GNB) If a man has sexual relations with another man, they have done a disgusting thing, and both shall be put to death. They are responsible for their own death.

(GW) When a man has sexual intercourse with another man as with a woman, both men are doing something disgusting and must be put to death. They deserve to die.

(JPS) And if a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

(KJV-1611) If a man also lie with mankind, as hee lyeth with a woman, both of them haue committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shalbe vpon them.

(LITV) And a man who lies with a male as one lies with a woman, both of them have done a detestable thing, dying they shall die; their blood shall be on them.

(MKJV) If a man also lies with mankind, as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be on them.

(NKJV) If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.

(RSV) If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death, their blood is upon them.

(RSVA) If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death, their blood is upon them.

(RV) And if a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

(Webster) If a man also shall lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

(YLT) `And a man who lieth with a male as one lieth with a woman; abomination both of them have done; they are certainly put to death; their blood is on them.

God makes it absolutely clear and doesn't pull punches on this sin. For those who love and fear God they get the message loud and clear.
I think I'll trust the nun I had that taught me, since she actually did research in Israel, Turkey, Greece, and Italy, concerning the material, the context, and the translations, over someone who's likely a country bumpkin that doesn't follow all the rules of Leviticus anyways.

Do you refrain from eating shellfish or pork? Do you refrain from wearing clothes made of more than one kind of cloth? Do you stone adulterers, or your kids if they disobey you? Do you refrain from ever shaving your facial hair?

Atheist will fervently defend your right to freedom of religion. But not in the public sphere or with public money.

Religion belongs in the home, church, temple, synagogue or mosque.

No. Where. Else.

The topic is homosexuality and scriptures were given to show that it is a sin. Others have tried to turn this thread into what are all my and others religious beliefs. You can see all the extra posts that would be off the topic that this would cause.

So, you have no scriptures to show that God's Word approves of homosexuality. I guess that is where we will have to leave it.

So what do you think the scriptures say about people who are intersexed?

Why do religious fundamentalists tend to be prejudiced?

ABSTRACT Studies are reported of university students, and of their parents, that found that religious fundamentalism correlated quite highly with religious ethnocentrism, or the tendency to make "Us vs Them" or "In-group vs Out-group" judgments of others on the basis of religion. Religious fundamentalism was also associated--to lesser degrees--with hostility toward homosexuals and prejudice against various racial-ethnic minorities. Also, fundamentalist students reported receiving strong training in childhood in identifying with the family religion from an early age. But, by comparison, they reported virtually no stress being placed on their racial identification. It is suggested that strong, early emphasis of the family religion may reinforce H. Tajfel's minimal group effect and produce a template for "us-them" discriminations that facilitates acquiring later prejudices. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2012 APA, all rights reserved)

But you use Leviticus as the basis for your focused hate, bringing it into the topic, yet refuse to explain how and why you can dismiss the other edicts as if they aren't there, but not this one.

Do you have any scriptures that show that your god approves of eating shellfish or pork or wearing clothes made of more than one kind of cloth?

Except.... that's NOT homosexuality. A gay man does not lie with another man as he would a woman. And homosexuality is also not just same-gender sex acts.

It's most likely about sacred temple prostitution anyway given the context. But it could be male rape. In which case it's far more likely to be heterosexual men raping other males like they would a woman to dominate and humiliate them. eg the story of the Levite stranger in Judges 19 and the story of the angels in Genesis 19.

Your posts come across like you are full of hatred and obsession about homosexuality to the point of it being unhealthy. This was written over 2000 years ago by primitive men for a particular group of people, it's not applicable to 21st century Christians anyway unless you also think 21st century Christians should follow all 613 mitzvoh commandments in the OT.

When was the last time you showed love and kindness to a stranger? Or helped someone in need without expecting praise or thanks?

The bible states the laws are there to be fulfilled by the Christ. Only one who could perform the prerequisites of Christhood was Jesus unless they start employing crucifixion again. Jesus fulfilled the ceremonial and legal law, but not the moral law. He didn't advocate killing an adulterous woman, so I doubt he would condone stoning a child for being disobedient or someone for picking up sticks on Sabbath day or even an actively homosexual person. Now whether they are given immortality is another matter entirely. Apparently the most evil thing is knowing Jesus and accepting the holy spirit, then rejecting it and trying to turn others away as well according to 2nd Peter, chapter 2. I'm guessing their stay in the lake of fire will be a nice long one. Far longer than the most actively homosexual person to have ever lived.

Nowhere is the Bible is that stated. It's seems more of a rather convenient excuse to use whatever OT laws someone wants to use and ignore ones they don't.
