A covenant can be broken by one (or both) of the parties involved. For those who have not quite figured out what God’s new covenant is all about, Jesus clarifies it at the end of The Book …
Revelation 21:7-8 • “He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” (NKJV)
The “overcomers” are those who overcome as Jesus overcame: Revelation 3:21 • “To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.”
The “overcomers” are those who are counted worthy of heaven: Revelation 3:4-5 • “You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life” 2 Thessalonians 1:4-5 • “… in all your persecutions and tribulations … that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God”
• the cowardly The cowardly are those who fall away when trials come, for example: those whose fear is greater than their love for Christ and who agree to take the mark of the beast (see Revelation 13:16-17 and 14:9-11), so they can buy and sell (yes, just to be able to feed their families). Mark 4:17 • “… they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble.” The cowardly ignore that whoever wants to save his life will lose it. Luke 9:24-25 • “For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake (and the gospel’s, Mark 8:35) will save it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?”
• the unbelieving The unbelieving are not only non-Christians. They are also those who at first come to Christ, but later turn away and reject Him. Mark 4:16-17 • “… they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble.” Matthew 10:22 • “And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.” 1 Peter 1:7-9 • “that the genuineness of your faith … is tested by fire … receiving the end of your faith — the salvation of your souls.” Revelation 2:10 • “Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of (eternal) life”
• the abominable Revelation 21:27 • “But there shall by no means enter it (the New Jerusalem) anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.”
It’s all about repentance … and getting rid of your habitual sins! Did you count the cost re: having enough to finish (Luke 14:28-33)?
• sorcerers • sexually immoral • murderers • idolaters • all liars Revelation 22:14-15 “Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter
through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers
and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.” Please note the similarity with Revelation 21:7-8.
Yes, those who do God’s commandments are the overcomers. Those who overcome like Jesus overcame (Revelation 3:21) are the ones who have the right to the tree of life, and who will enter through the gates into the holy city (the New Jerusalem).
Revelation 2:7 • “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.”
The truths above are NOT what many churches have been teaching! The Lord did not have the Bible written to tickle the ears of believers who have itching ears to hear pleasing doctrines (2 Timothy 4:3-4). Churches today preach as if tickling your ears will bring salvation!

What makes me sad is that it says the cowardly, the ones who are afraid. Not purposely trying to go against God, but if God wants to starve us and bring the world into destruction its kind of hard to call that loving and to love back. But we gotta do it

So...in 50 words or less, can you tell us what it means to "overcome"? What do you believe we must we DO to be saved?
I'm not sure the OP would appreciate you putting words in his mouth.
I'm not sure I care what you think.
