I am assuming you are a class I atheist. You still have a long road to travel.
I'm really shocked you never told him to "come home to Rome".

Ahhh...it might surprise you that when I existed Christianity, I was NOT the fundamentalist I was anymore. Actually, I was long removed from that in favor of a more sublime version of the faith, believing more in the "love of God" than the judgment of God. All that condemnation nonsense was gone. My path to atheism was STRICTLY intellectual. No, I was not "angry" with God nor was it the "hypocrites in church." Strictly one of reasoning and that has been it.

So you would describe what you were as a liberal Christian?

Level I atheists are not prepared to come home.

However, level; III or level IV atheists return home all the time. They enjoy religion as much as you do. but they do not accept the mythology. They may even use the Thomas Jefferson bible.

That's okay. You won't always think that way. From my perspective, He is doing an excellent job. He planted the tree of the knowledge of good AND evil in the midst of the garden. Adam and Eve ate of it and we are still learning from the experience of good AND evil. But one day evil will give way to good and the entire universe will be enveloped in perfect love.

The Bible never once elevates Satan to the same level as God. So why do you say it as if it is a foregone conclusion?

That is so true Vizio.

What I find interesting is many are the atheists who interpolate what they read in the Bible and give a false idea not found in the text.

Why would God make a bet with Satan in the book of Job? It certainly elevates Satan a great deal to have a 'mano a mano" with God.

And on a "Christianity" message board, no less! I can't imagine having nothing better to do with my life than going to troll a message board for a deity I don't believe in.
