Jesus says: "I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." He proclaims His purpose is to call sinners to repentance.
Yep, the discipline only comes into play when they do not repent, after loving help and they keep sinning in such ways. Jesus did not hang out with unrepentant sinners, he went to those who needed to know his love and would repent, as we are all sinners, but the call was to repentance. He did not hang out with Caiaphas as an example.The call was made and ignored.
